Living in a Historical Moment

First, I must address how utterly happy I am that Barack Obama is the newest president of the United States. I am a dual citizen and before I never was proud to call myself an American. Now, I could run up and down the street in the middle of night screaming that I am. The hope and change Pres. Obama will bring to the U.S. and the rest of the world will be historical. Srsly, he has already made history by being the first Afro-American to ever become the President so, whatever change he will make, will just make him God.

The inauguration was a really nice ceremony. At school, we had our regular lunch hour (11:30 - 12:30) which was perfect to watch this moment. They set up a TV in the Library and we crammed in to watch. It was full of applauding, cheering and even some booing. It was awesome. I'll tell you now that I can picture myself as an old lady, telling my grand children about this day.

Anyway, back to the point. I thought everyone was perfect. Obama's face when he walked outside and through those doors was just, so... powerful? It was full of mixed emotions and it just seemed so right. Even though something went wrong with the actual inauguration (I think it was the judge but Obama is human too), it was the greatest moment of my week.

Currently, Barack and his beautiful wife Michelle are making their way to their 10 Inaugural Balls. I think they have done 2 and are one the way to the third. As I am writing, Kanye West is performing at the Youth Ball. I missed Beyonce's performance of "At Last". According to my mother, it was amazing. I look forward to hearing about the other performances tomorrow. As Barack dances the night away, I am off to bed as exams are on my agenda this week.

YES WE DID!

As far as I'm concerned, Barack and Michelle Obama are the cutest couple... ever. I mean, watching them dance at inaugural balls just makes me smile.
